Case Studies

Case studies took place in the school year 2013-14. Each 'case' is connected to a particular farm visit, with the school group being accompanied on their visit by the researcher. The teacher responsible for the visit, and the farmer who hosted the visit participated in a short research interview, and some of the children who went on the farm visit took part in a group discussion.

The Royal Highland Education Trust was a partner in this research, and most of the farm visits which were included as case studies were arranged through RHET (and the RNCI in North East Scotland). However we are also grateful for the assistance of the Co-Op Farm-to-Fork project team for allowing access to some of their farm visits in the Borders.

Argyll & Bute
