'Farm visits and the Scottish primary school curriculum' was a PhD research project in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Glasgow's Dumfries Campus.

The study aimed to explore the use of farm visits as an educational experience for primary school children, and the ways in which such visits can link with the Curriculum for Excellence guidelines.

    Thank You!
Huge thanks to all at RHET and Co-op Farms who helped with access to and organisation of case studies. Thanks also to all the teachers and children who participated (and to all the parents and guardians who gave permission for their children to take part), and to the farmers who took the time to chat with me about their experiences of offering educational farm visits.

The study was supported by a three-year (2012-2015) full-time studentship from the Mains of Loirston Charitable Trust (Scottish Registered Charity No. SC038006).  The study was also supported by SRUC (formerly the Scottish Agricultural College) and the Royal Highland Education Trust.
